6 factors to adjust civil service pay

Chief Executive Carrie Lam said the Chief Executive-in-Council will consider a basket of six factors regarding civil service pay.   Ahead of today’s Executive Council meeting in the morning, Mrs Lam noted this year's pay trend survey results show that there is a positive rate, especially at the higher level of civil service positions.   However, she stressed that the survey is not the only consideration regarding the civil service pay annual adjustment.   “As the Secretary for Civil Service has repeatedly said in public, we have been practising this repeatedly in previous years that we do not just rigidly follow the pay trend survey results to adjust the civil service pay on an annual basis - there is a basket of six factors.   “We are still in this process. So for the time being, no decision has been made on adjustments to civil service pay in the 2022 pay adjustment exercise.”

8.47m jab doses administered

About 8,474,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 4,430,300 people receiving their first dose and around 4,043,600 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 1,607,100 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 2,823,300 people got the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 1,472,300 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 2,571,300 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 33,700 people received jabs under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   Around 3,600 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 9,200 people received their second dose.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 4,500 people received their first dose and around 16,400 people got their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 97% while it is about 93% for the BioNTech one.   As of midnigh
