Officials to attend SZ meeting

Chief Secretary John Lee today led Hong Kong Special Administrative Region representatives to Shenzhen to attend the second meeting on the anti-epidemic work of the Mainland and Hong Kong to be held tomorrow.   The meeting is convened for the purpose of pressing ahead with the gradual and orderly resumption of quarantine-free travel between the Mainland and Hong Kong, the Government said.   Secretary for Food & Health Prof Sophia Chan, Secretary for Innovation & Technology Alfred Sit, Under Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Clement Woo, and representatives of the Department of Health, the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, the Security Bureau, the Transport & Housing Bureau and other bureaus and departments will join the meeting.

8.47m jab doses administered

About 8,474,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 4,430,300 people receiving their first dose and around 4,043,600 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 1,607,100 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 2,823,300 people got the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 1,472,300 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 2,571,300 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 33,700 people received jabs under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   Around 3,600 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 9,200 people received their second dose.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 4,500 people received their first dose and around 16,400 people got their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 97% while it is about 93% for the BioNTech one.   As of midnigh
