Cantonese Opera Day on Nov 28

The 19th Cantonese Opera Day will be held on November 28, comprising opera excerpts and operatic songs, talks and demonstrations as well as an exhibition on opera heritage.   The event will start with a chat session at noon at the Space Museum, with free admission tickets to be distributed at the entrance of the museum’s Lecture Hall from 11 am. Each person is entitled to one ticket.   It will be followed by other activities at the Cultural Centre and free tickets will be distributed from 9 am on November 18 at the centre’s enquiry counter. Each person may choose a maximum of four activities.   Admission tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.   Call 2268 7325 for enquiries.

8.47m jab doses administered

About 8,474,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 4,430,300 people receiving their first dose and around 4,043,600 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 1,607,100 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 2,823,300 people got the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 1,472,300 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 2,571,300 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 33,700 people received jabs under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   Around 3,600 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 9,200 people received their second dose.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 4,500 people received their first dose and around 16,400 people got their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 97% while it is about 93% for the BioNTech one.   As of midnigh
