Woman arrested for security breach

A 19-year-old local woman in Mong Kok was arrested today on suspicion of violating the National Security Law.   The Police National Security Department arrested the woman in respect of enforcement operations on September 20 for suspected conspiracy to incite the commission by other people of the offence of subversion under Article 22 and 23 of the National Security Law.   She is being detained for further enquiries. An investigation is underway and further arrests may be made.

8.47m jab doses administered

About 8,474,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 4,430,300 people receiving their first dose and around 4,043,600 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 1,607,100 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 2,823,300 people got the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 1,472,300 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 2,571,300 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 33,700 people received jabs under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   Around 3,600 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 9,200 people received their second dose.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 4,500 people received their first dose and around 16,400 people got their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 97% while it is about 93% for the BioNTech one.   As of midnigh

DC members should abide by rules

​The Home Affairs Department today said it had issued letters reminding individual district councillors to comply with the code of conduct and the remuneration guidelines, after receiving complaints that some members are promoting unauthorised public assemblies.   In a statement, the department said it received complaints that some District Council members conducted activities which are unrelated to council duties, damaging to community harmony, and possibly in breach of the laws of Hong Kong.   These activities include, but are not limited to, distributing materials and conducting publicity to encourage and facilitate members of the public to participate in unauthorised public assemblies.   Citing the relevant code of conduct, the department said a district councillor shall conduct himself or herself in such a way as not to place himself or herself in a position which may be contrary to the generally assumed standard of conduct expected of a District Council member.   When dec
