Testing compliance check ends

The Government today said a joint enforcement operation on a compulsory testing notice for eight buildings in To Kwa Wan has been completed.   Sixty-five people were found to have violated the notice.   The notice covered On Ping Building, On Wo Yuen (Phase II) at 39 Mei King Street, On Hong Building, On Wo Yuen (Phase II) at 55 Mei King Street, and buildings located at 9 and 11, 13 and 15, 17 and 19, 21 and 23, 25 and 27, and 29 and 31 Mei King Street.   The enforcement action was conducted this morning by the Kowloon City District Office, together with Police, the Centre for Health Protection and the Auxiliary Medical Service.   About 790 residents’ test records were checked during the operation that ended by 11.10am.   The Government thanked residents who complied with the testing notice. Those who violated the notice were issued fixed penalties of $5,000 or compulsory testing orders, or both.   Noting that the enforcement process may cause inconvenience to residents, the Government appealed for their understanding as the operation was conducted to stop the spread of COVID-19.
